Two soil dwelling  species are available, Lumbricus terrestris - also known as the common worm or lob worm and Apporectodea caliginosa. Both of these worms create tunnels and generally help to aerate the soil and are usually found in the top 20-30cm. They are most active in spring and autumn.

Both of these species pull dead leaves and other organic matter into the soil, therefore improving soil structure, their presence is often indicated by the casts left on the surface.

These worms are large, generally 10 to 15cm in length.

Please contact me for more details.

Please note, as these worms prefer cool temperatures and damp soil, they are only available from end of April - September, during the summer, they tend to go very deep and are less active.
